Bringing Sustainable Blooms to Edenbridge:
Nestled in the countryside near Edenbridge, The Meadow Flower Co. is a flourishing, sustainable flower business rooted on my family’s farm in Marsh Green.
A few years ago, my world was far removed from flower arranging or gardening; I was teaching science in inner-London secondary schools when Covid struck. Like many, lockdown made me reflect on what truly mattered. That’s when I uncovered a surprising reality: the vast majority of flowers sold in the UK are flown in from distant places like Kenya and Colombia, passing through European markets before arriving here. I felt inspired to offer a homegrown alternative, and with my parents practicing regenerative cattle farming, I saw an opportunity to adopt similar principles for flowers.
From the outset, sustainability has been my guiding principle. At The Meadow Flower Co., I cultivate flowers without chemicals, using regenerative methods that enrich soil health and support local biodiversity. Every stem is British-grown and seasonal, ensuring minimal environmental impact. I also avoid single-use plastics in packaging and production, prioritising sustainability at every turn.
Today, the flower patch bursts with colour; triumphant tulips and scented sweet peas in spring, vibrant dahlias and ornamental grasses come late summer and autumn. Each bouquet reflects the beauty of the changing seasons.
My offerings include:
- Seasonal Bouquets & Subscriptions – Whether as a thoughtful gift or personal indulgence, my hand-tied bouquets are full of character and freshly gathered. You can order one-off arrangements or enjoy a subscription throughout the growing season. Delivery to Edenbridge is free.
- Pick-Your-Own Bouquets – Looking for a mindful escape? My PYO sessions offer an immersive experience where visitors can handpick their own blooms. Held on select Tuesday afternoons from late April to September.
- Workshops – Whether you’re learning to craft an elegant bouquet or start your own cut-flower patch, my creative workshops welcome all skill levels and offer a chance to reconnect with nature.
