Recruitment poster for Edenbridge WI Hall committee

The Edenbridge Town Village Hall (aka the Edenbridge WI Hall) on Station Road has been a local landmark for around 100 years. The hall plays a big part in our local community, hosting fundraising events for local charities, dance and exercise classes, private parties and wedding receptions. It is equipped to host performances put on by The Edenbridge Players and Forge Singers and is fitted out with a wonderful stage area with professional sound and lighting.

In January of this year, the Hall was closed for two weeks  in order to repair a section of the hall floor which was starting to sag. Unfortunately the damage to the floor was more extensive than we had thought (and hoped!) due to wet and dry rot which resulted in the entire Hall floor having to be taken up, new timber beams installed and a new sub floor laid.  We are thankful to our contractors who completed the works on time in order that the hall could reopen to our hirers. Thank you also to Edenbridge Town Council, The Great Stone Bridge Trust and The Warren Meadows Charitable Trust for their generous support.

A vinyl floor is being laid as an interim measure and the long term plan will be to lay a final finished top floor but in order to do this second phase we will need to raise significant additional funds.  We would love to hear from any local businesses or charities who feel that they can support us.

The Hall is desperately looking for Committee members to join to help run this valuable local asset… If anyone is interested in finding out more please contact info@edenbridgevillagehall.org.
