New Chair Anita Black, Eden Valley Chamber of Commerce

Many long-term readers will know that I have always been very passionate about our local Chamber of Commerce.  I joined 3 months before my first edition of the Edenbridge Magazine (then known as the Edenbridge Directory) in July 2005.  For me it was a great way to meet local business people and also just get to know people in general as I had not long been living in the area at the time.  I’ve made some great friends through the Chamber because, as well as being business orientated, the majority of it’s membership are local business owners living in the local area.

It was at the AGM held in June this year that our former Chairperson, Peter Kingham, stepped down from his ‘post’ and handed the reigns to our new Chairperson, Anita Black.

Having been a member of the Eden Valley Chamber of Commerce for many years, Anita has now moved from her position as Vice-Chair to Chairperson, taking over from Peter Kingham who is now the Vice-Chair.

Many readers will recognise Anita as she owned and worked in Options Beauty Salon in the High Street for 25 years before semi-retiring in 2018.  A passionate business woman, Anita will be contining the good work of the Chamber by supporting all types of businesses with her own unique style of leadership and linking the business and community of Edenbridge.

Anita says, “I am truly grateful for all that Edenbridge gave me over 25 years and this is my opportunity to give something back.  I am honoured to be the Chairperson of this established organisation.”

Currently, Anita is very busy working with the Edenbridge Motor Show Committee which she has been a part of for the last four years.
