Flow Zone is SES Water’s state-of-the-art education centre at Bough Beech Reservoir and Water Treatment Works.
A sensory experience involving light, sound and exciting activities, visitors can climb the huge dam, walk through the tunnel right under the reservoir and see close-up how we clean and distribute millions of litres of fresh drinking water, every single day.
From school visits (for Key Stage 2 pupils and above) to community groups, every year our knowledgeable colleagues provide an immersive learning experience and help thousands of people of all ages understand more about where water comes from and why it’s so important to use it wisely. Last year alone nearly 3,000 children and staff visited our centre.
Can’t come and see us? We can come to you…
Visit www.flow-zone.co.uk which is packed with information, fun activities and games about water. You can also win prizes and sign up to come to one of our open days.
Speak to us about the other activities we offer for a whole range of ages and groups, such as school talks and assemblies and other hands-on tailored activities for young people.
We’d love to come and talk to your community group or workplace about saving water and how little changes can make a big difference.
Every year we take our community trailer out and about to many local events to talk about water and give away lots of free water-saving goodies.
Good to know
Our education centre has been awarded the Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge, which endorses high quality learning and standards of practice.
All school and local community activities are free of charge. Our education centre can also be booked as a meeting space with additional optional activities.
Bough Beech is an operational site and for health and safety reasons we can only welcome visitors aged seven and over. A visit is physically active and while we can accommodate wheelchair users in the centre, access is limited around the rest of the site.
For more information and to book a visit, please email lisa.downes@seswater.co.uk.
We look forward to seeing you to have fun learning about all things water!
